The Fremantle Mosque Story
Founded in 2025, the Fremantle Mosque was established with a simple vision: to provide a welcoming place of worship, education, and community for Muslims in the Fremantle area.
Today, Alhamdulillah, Fremantle Mosque has grown into a thriving community hub, welcoming hundreds of worshippers and visitors every week. The mosque holds its weekly Jummah prayer and sermon starting at 1:00 PM every Friday, regularly filling the prayer hall with members of the community coming together in faith.
Beyond daily worship, the mosque serves as a place for learning, connection, and celebration. The mosque and its hall are also available for weddings, Islamic ceremonies, and other community gatherings.
Fremantle Mosque is supported by a dedicated committee committed to expanding the mosque’s activities, organising community events, and creating more opportunities for people of all ages to connect. Further information about our committee members will be published on this website soon.
Meet Sheikh Omran
Sheikh Omran is the founder, president and primary caretaker of Fremantle Mosque.
Originally from Egypt, Sheikh Omran is a graduate of the prestigious Al-Azhar University and has been teaching Arabic and Islamic studies since 1973, dedicating more than 50 years of his life to Islamic education and serving the Muslim community.
In addition to leading the weekly Jumu’ah prayer, Sheikh Omran generously dedicates his time to providing free Quran and Arabic classes for children, teenagers, and adults within the local community.
He also offers personal guidance, Islamic advice, and marriage counselling to individuals and families seeking support.
Known for his kindness, wisdom, and dedication to serving others, Sheikh Omran has made it his life’s mission to share Islamic knowledge, bring people together, and create a welcoming environment for Muslims of all backgrounds.
