Sheikh omran
Sheikh Omran is the principal teacher and caretaker of Fremantle Mosque.
Originally from Egypt, he is a graduate of the prestigious Al-Azhar University and has been teaching Arabic and Islamic studies since 1973.
In addition to leading the weekly Jummah prayer, Sheikh Omran dedicates his time to providing free Quran and Arabic classes for children, teenagers, and adults within the local community. He also offers personal guidance, Islamic advice, and marriage counselling to those seeking support.

The new Fremantle Mosque has been thoughtfully designed to serve the needs of our growing community. With beautiful high ceilings and a prayer space built to face the Qibla, the mosque provides a peaceful and welcoming environment for worship, learning, and community connection.
Our facility includes separate wudu areas for men and women, a dedicated women’s prayer room, a small Islamic library, and a classroom where Arabic and Qur’an lessons are held.
We are also proud to have a new janazah facility, helping the community fulfil this important obligation with dignity, care, and respect.
